2018 FIFA World Cup Spain Team Squad

David de Gea, Pepe Reina, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Jordi Alba, Nacho Monreal, Alvaro Odriozola, Nacho Fernandez, Dani Carvajal, Gerard Pique, Sergio Ramos, Cesar Azpilicueta, Sergio Busquets, Isco, Thiago Alcantara, David Silva, Andres Iniesta, Saul Niguez, Koke, Marco Asensio, Iago Aspas, Diego Costa, Rodrigo Moreno, Lucas Vazquez.

Let us take a look at who all will be making it to the playing XI.

In all likelihood, Spain will be deploying a 4-2-3-1 formation.

2018 FIFA World Cup Spain Goalkeeper

With the world’s best in their squad, Spain will not look beyond David de Gea to guard the goal for them.

2018 FIFA World Cup Spain Defenders

The defense will be taken care of by a duo each from Barcelona and Real Madrid. Davi Carvajal will be the right-back, Jordi Alba will be the left-back while veterans Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique will take care of the central defense. With the likes of Nacho Fernandez, Azplicueta and Nacho Monreal, Spain have a decent back-up for their defenders.

2018 FIFA World Cup Spain Midfield

Midfield is one area where there will be a lot of competition among the Spaniards. In spite of that, four out of the five places are all but decided. Thiago Alcantara and Sergio Busquets will be the holding midfielders while David Silva and Isco will be the right-winger and the number 10 respectively. The left-winger position will be a toss-up between Andres Iniesta and Marco Asensio and the former Barcelona star might just edge out the Real Madrid star, who might be useful as an impact substitute for the left-winger’s role.

2018 FIFA World Cup Spain Forward

it is highly unlikely that Spain will be deploying a False-9 tactic in the 2019 World Cup. Diego Costa is likely to get the nod as the striker ahead of Rodrigo.
